The New Modest Generation

This comment/post sure exhibits how skewed our society has become, taking a clear-cut rejection and fear of the nude human form. Boys are naturally a bit curious about their body and how it compares to other boys their own age.
Showers and public change rooms are not a shameful place. Yet the pious and skeptical over-protectors have people shunned of  displaying their body, evidently it now begins in grade-school. I reckon that's why it's become prevalent for youngsters engage in exposing themselves on Social media? I can't imagine that is safer or more socially acceptable. Image the parent who might find Junior exposing his bits on IG? Can you say Melt-down. Well that's my rant and intro to the story.
Enjoy E~

My 10 year old nephew told me at summer camp that all the boys have private shower stalls. They must take their towels and clothes and are not allowed to come out of them naked.

. I'm not sure how this worked exactly but it sounds like a hassle. I went to the same camp and we had walls with shower-heads and the shy kids just showers quickly and faced the wall. We didn't have any private showers and we certainly weren't prohibited from being naked.

  1. I think most of us were pretty embarrassed when we were first required to strip down and shower together when we entered jr. high, but it served a purpose to socialize us and make us not freak out about nudity, being seen naked, etc., or even being seen naked in appropriate situations (locker rooms) by adult men or with adult naked men. We got over our embarrassment and then found it to be no big deal. We knew enough not to let adult men touch us if they tried to. Boys today don't get this important socialization step anymore.

    1. umm....err, How did we make this leap. We were talking bout young guys with same-age pals mixed with nudity and showers.

Then somebody gotta bring in the adult quotient, and improper touch!!! Ngah!!

  2. Where I was brought up the public swimming baths were open with no changing rooms so men and boy's were fully naked and in full view of each other. There was never any real problems outside of the odd erection of men and boy's and the rare sexual assault of boy's. Maybe that's why they don't have the open changing rooms anymore, but the boy's I had in there never complained.
