Was I too much of a nerd?
My favorite place was the branch library near my house. I did homework there, hunted for books to read, and kept an eye on the narrow little hall that went down to the restrooms.
The regular jerkers were a mixture of junior high boys, high school boys, and young men. A guy would step into the rest room. and pretty soon someone else would go right in after. But sometimes someone was in there waiting for an interested guy. If nobody came out you could go in and hear whispery voices.
One funny thing. If we ran into one of our restroom buddies at school or out shopping with mom, totally ignored them like we had never met.

Our library was definitely active. But there was an open war between us young dudes and the grown men. Some boys would be cruising. Then a man comes in and every boy is immedeately walking out. I had better luck at YMCA after school.
