The way I remember PE Locker rooms 1965-1971, there was less than 5% of us baby boomer boys that wore boxers. Boxers to us were old mans underwear.
Naturally, Mom bought our clothes and we wore what she got us. Also the obvious reason they were white was because they needed to be CLEAN and the only way to clean stuff then and really to this day is with bleach. Colors just don't stand up to bleach very long before they look like crap.

ReplyDeleteYup. I agree 100%. I don;t remember any boy wearing anything other than tighty whities. And my dad wore boxers, so they were indeed 'old man's underpants'. And all through school none of us ever had a need to wear one of those embarrassing jockstraps because our tighty whities provided our nutties all the support that they needed. (I only wore a jock inside my swim trunks, and my first one when I was 13 my MOM bought it and gave it to me. So embarrassing!!)
