There had to be a little background to this. The boy in the equipment room must have kept watch on the 7th grade boys and decided that the writer was a likely candidate. If he showed himself to certain boys that I remember, they would of beat him up.

ReplyDeleteSome boys/men have a very keen sense of knowing if another boy/man is a candidate to make a move on. When the author saw this other boy, he may have gave him a certain look and smile. He also may have seen him touch his crotch or, like mentioned, appear to have an erection. It also could've been that he was simply attracted to him. This other boy likely had budding gay feelings and was carefully seeking another boy to "play" with!
